RAMPSI Integrates Post Production Suite for the Town of Vienna

R. A. M. Production Services, Inc has been providing video consulting services to the Town of Vienna since the fall of 2010.  The latest project has been to add in-house video production and post-production capabilities to support of Office of Public Information.

The office is now equipment with a JVC GY-HM750 HD camera and all the necessary audio, lighting and grip equipment to cover town hall meetings and special activities that take place around town.

The edit suite is built around a Mac Pro computer running Adobe’s Permiere and Apples FCP X as editing options along with the industry standard Photoshop and After Effects for graphic manipulation.  Storage utilizes a Drobo FS raid array with 10TB of storage.  And because all their material is destined for broadcast on the town’s cable channel, a 20” Plura Broadcast HD monitors was an essential element to be able to properly evaluate the finished product.   Through it, the editor can view their edit or monitor the live feed from the broadcast server.  The Plura Monitors have several nice features that make it attractive to have in the edit suite.  A few are an:

  • Advanced Waveform / Vectorscope;
  • Closed Caption (708/608) or Teletext 801 & Subtitle OP-47 for North American or Australian markets respectively;
  • VPID;
  • IMD;
  • UnderScan / ZeroScan / Over Scan / Zoom;
  • 1:1 Pixel mode;
  • PIP & PAP;
  • Multiple Digital Audio Metering Scales;
  • Digital Audio Decoding;
  • Built-In Speaker;
  • Time Code Display and Tally.
