Operations Center Installed to Support Homeland Security Efforts

RAMPSI installed a Monitoring Operation Center for a Homeland Security firm here in the Washington DC area.  Operators monitor social and broadcast media for threats against the United States 24/7.

With each operator working multiple computers, it was essential that a monitor wall display be set-up to enable workers and senior staff to simultaneously monitor multiple displays.  With a tight budget and a requirement not to damage the walls, Ray Milograno designed and constructed a custom wall support out of aluminum that supports four 42” LCD monitors.  The monitors, receiving signals via a VGA matrix router, enable them to display both computer and broadcast signals.

Each operator at two main stations is able to create a custom audio mix from their computers and select video signals.  There are also additional stations located around the room that feed into the system to support additional operators in crisis situations.
